TLHA is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and engaging environment designed to meet the needs of those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Along with providing care for seniors with memory loss at facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin, we host various events across all of our campuses. These events include:
1. Memory Café events: a social gathering for those with memory loss and their caregivers. Program content varies based on guests' interests, needs, and concerns.
2. Annual Memory Walk: a walk is designed to engage and educate community members on Alzheimer's and memory loss. Individuals are invited to walk in honor or memory of someone with memory loss.
3. "It's Alzheimer's-It's Time for Extraordinary Love" presentations: a presentation reviewing a booklet written by Pastor Curt Seefeldt offering people who are affected by Alzheimer's disease a starting point for understanding and adjusting to its challenging realities. It's written in everyday language to help people understand how the disease progresses, how family and friends can prepare to provide quality care, and how to approach the necessary legal and financial adjustments.
The impact of TLHA providing care and outreach opportunities includes providing resources to family members and loved ones who may be the primary care giver for an individual with memory loss, educating community members on memory loss and caring for individuals with memory loss at one of our seven care communities. We offer person-focused care by staff who easily adapt to each resident's unique patterns; a private and safe courtyard to enjoy time outdoors; and carefully planned activities and tasks to add structure and purpose to daily routines.
