CHARLES HOUSE Daytime Program Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund supports the enrollment of families caring for aging family members, from a spectrum of socio-economic needs. Scholarship support gives families access to the high quality, innovative program of Charles House, which engages their participant family member in therapeutic social programming and which offers much needed respite from the 24/7 demands of caregiving.
This year, we are rebuilding after a year of pandemic shut down. Caregiving families need the support of Charles House more now than ever before.
Families caring for aging family members need support. Families deal with the challenges that come with dementia and memory loss, Parkinson's, movement disorders, vision and hearing loss, often with insufficient information and the uncertainty of an unknown future. Charles House provides a beacon for caregiving families. Enrollment in the Daytime Eldercare Program provides participant family members with a unique experience with peers to be fully human, while family caregivers receive the respite and support they so desperately need.
Charles House makes it possible for many families to complete their caregiving journey at home without a placement in a residential care setting. Families report improvement in the functioning of their family members after initiating participation in the Day Program and lower stress levels in themselves.
As a training site for students and interns, Charles House is nurturing a new generation in positive attitudes for aging--in others and in themselves.
