Since 1981, Stein Hospice Service, Incorporated, a community not-for-profit hospice located
in Sandusky, Ohio, has been providing services for terminally ill clients diagnosed with six months or
less to live and palliative services that prevent and relieve suffering, not limited to end of life care. Our
focus is on supporting patients and their families facing a serious illness and our concentration is on
comfort and the healing of relationships that result in a higher quality of life. Our services are offered to
residents of Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Lorain, Clermont, Clinton, Adams and Brown counties and to Veterans residing
in the State's two Veteran Homes in Sandusky and Georgetown, Ohio.
Programs and services are available for patients of all ages and their loved ones, in their homes, assisted living centers, skilled
nursing facilities, hospitals and our in-patient unit and include: an 18 bed in-patient unit, Emily's Library,
Palliative Care Program, Paws-Up Program, Comfort Care Program, Charity Care
Program, Adult and Children's Bereavement Programs, Life-Course Program, Volunteer Program and the Encore Store. We
partner with the Hospice Veterans Partnership of Ohio, Firelands Regional Medical Hospital, Fisher-Titus
Medical Center and have contracts with over 40 nursing facilities and 10 assisted living facilities.
