We reached our goal last year, and hope to do it again this year! Your support is helping us make this dream a reality. Help us make an IMPACT by improving the health and wellness of our members, and our community!

Description of project

In order for Shipley Center to continue to meet the needs of the growing senior and older adult population within the Sequim-Dungeness Valley area, and beyond, we need to increase our facility. A remodel and additional square footage was added to our current location in 2002, and we are no longer able to expand on our current facility. While we will eventually build a much larger location on land purchased by our organization in 2012, we need to fill an immediate need and have the ability to do so with building a Health and Wellness Annex building on a piece of property we own directly across the street from our current location. This Health and Wellness Annex will feature a small gymnasium for us to hold our overflowing exercise and physical fitness activities, as well as a demonstration cooking kitchen, which will allow us to help our members and community learn how to cook and eat in a healthier way. This building will allow us to not only improve the lives of our members, but meet the needs within our community for such a facility. It will offer valuable intergenerational activities, and fun environment that will allow our senior and older adult population to focus on health!
