Gresham , Oregon
This year has been one we all will remember for ever and supporting our seniors has been almost impossible since we haven't been able to have our doors open since March 16, 2020. We normally have over a 100 seniors ever week taking classes, playing cards or other games or going on day trips, helping with our fundraiser and special events which hasn't happen. No Mother's Day Tea, No Book Fair, No Fashion Show or Car Show and no funds earned to pay the bills. The Gresham Senior Center is run on volunteers power and donations no funds are receive from city, county, state or federal government to pay our expenses. We are small but proud of what we have and will do for our senior community and we are hoping you will keep our doors open by donating to the Gresham Senior Center. Last year you donated funds for a new long arm quilting machine for our sewing room. Quilts sells are one of our center's biggest fundraisers and this to has stopped. We need to replenish our funds. Please help!
The Gresham Senior Center is in it's 51st year, serving seniors in the eastern portions of Multnomah county. Our programs reach hundreds of seniors weekly and help support those who would otherwise be isolated, and lose the ability for socialization with peers. We offer a variety of classes, support groups, events, and fun for the community. One of our largest forms of financial support is done through our quilting room, where beautiful, handmade quilts are designed, created and sold. The funds from these quilts go back into the center and help us continue to support the community.
"The dedication presented from the volunteers and Executive Director, Terry Pullen, is nothing shy of impressive. Every one of the people I have met has been fully invested and committed to making the center a success. Each person volunteering at the center understands the importance of the work they do for the community of seniors in the Gresham area. There is a buzz of energy that comes from the center, and although they have little resources, they are rich in love for the people they serve.
