Fundraising Campaign

Gifts for Seniors has launched Tablets for Seniors - an initiative dedicated to getting tablets into the hands of isolated seniors in need. COVID-19 poses a disproportionate danger for seniors, who may already have been isolated, but are now experiencing additional challenges and will remain cut off from their communities long beyond the general public. And that isolation can be just as deadly. Tablets for Seniors are pre-loaded with free video conferencing software, several mind-occupying apps, networking opportunities for older adults and the in-store purchasing function are disabled so less tech savvy seniors cannot be exploited by scammers. You can help keep seniors connected! $65 will purchase a tablet and allow older adults to remain part of their communities, even from a distance. Need statements: "We have 37 clients living alone who are totally cut off from the outside world due to the pandemic. 90% of them are income restricted and couldn't otherwise purchase a tablet themselves." "This is amazing! Our adult day members are struggling so much and this would be - honestly- life saving in some cases!!" "Our residents are in their rooms, mostly alone as all social activities have been cancelled."

More About Us

Gifts for Seniors has been serving thousands of socially isolated seniors every year for over 25 years. Our holiday program began as a volunteer-led initiative at Hennepin County in 1994. Over the years the Gifts for Seniors program grew to serve the entire 7-county metro area and in 2008, became our own 501c3 public charity. The programming has significantly expanded to serve the community year round.

Testimonials

"It is due to support like yours that we are able to help our neighborhood elderly remain not only healthy, but safely and comfortably in their homes rather than early nursing home placement." Chris Langer, North-End South Como Block Nurse Program

"Gifts for Seniors is a wonderful charity. Not only do the forgotten Seniors receive gifts, but also a personal visit from someone. Sometimes, the visit is worth more than the gift. If your company is looking for a new program to support and give back to, please consider Gifts for Seniors. It is one of our most treasured events." Tracie Baumann, Operations Accounting Manager at Wells Fargo Insurance Services
