This is to provide 500 senior citizens with vital care services allowing them to safely age in place and remain in their own homes longer, To receive staple perishable foods (fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs, milk) weekly, non-perishable foods (canned, boxed and freezer items), and once a month e a prepared hot meal. Transportation services to medical appointments, shopping and social activities. Various social activities and a hot meal provided at the Faith In Action's office/community center. These services allow us to interact with the seniors on a weekly basis, sometime daily, ensuring they are doing well and identify any other needs they may have.
Faith In Action is dedicated to helping chronically ill, frail, disabled and elderly individuals retain their independence, and remain in their homes. Faith In Action visits the home-bound, shut-ins in North Lakeland five-zip code area (33805, 33809, 33810, 33811 & 33815) to guarantee that their needs are met. Weekly food boxes are distributed, monthly staple items are provided, and once a month and during holiday seasons recipients are brought to Faith In Action community center for a home cooked hot meal. Faith In Action ensures recipients have clothing, toiletries, transportation to medical appointments, shopping and community social events. Services provided are house cleaning services that occur on a weekly basis or more if needed, monthly food deliver services are a combination of perishable and non-perishable foods, once a week a hot meal is delivered, and personal care services are provided on individual's need. Transportation is provided on individual need to medical appointments, nutritional and basic need shopping, community and Faith In Action social activities. Faith In Action's purpose is to ensure the clients are living in safe conditions and their quality of life is maintained.
