Give65 is a program of the Home Instead Foundation.
A study by the Foundation Center reports less than two percent of funding from the nation's largest grantmakers is specifically focused on aging adults - even though the nation's 65-and-older population is expected to double by the year 2050. Further, the U.S. Census Bureau reports that one in seven aging adult is living in poverty based on the supplemental poverty measure. Every day 10,000 people are turning 65 years old in the U.S.; this presents a tremendous need to increase the capacity of nonprofit programs and services that are helping aging adults live with the independence and dignity they deserve.
In 2016, Home Instead Foundation established Give65 to inspire greater charitable giving in support of nonprofit organizations that serve low-income, vulnerable aging adults. Since then, more than $3.3 million has been raised and awarded to nonprofits serving aging adults throughout the United States. Home Instead Foundation is proud to present Give65, in collaboration with generous sponsors sharing our mission, to help aging adults in need.
Since its founding in 2003, Home Instead Foundation has been helping less fortunate and vulnerable aging adults. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $4 million to nonprofit organizations serving aging adults in the United States. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the lives of aging adults and those who care for them.
Paul and I started the Foundation to help aging adults who could not afford the services of the Home Instead network. Over the years, we have had the great honor to learn about many nonprofit programs throughout North America that are providing services essential to quality of life. The need is great. I think Give65 is a rallying cry for all of us - the public and private sector - to come together and create hope for our aging adults in need."
