More About Us

The Brush Up Nebraska organization was formed in 1989 and in its near 30 years has painted 2,891 eligible homes through the efforts of over 81,000 volunteers which is comprised of many community, church and corporate organizations that volunteer in August of each year for a high impact short duration program that benefits approximately 60 eligible home owners that are selected through a detailed set of criteria. The program operates year round to fund raise and plan the logistics for that weekend.


Brush Up Nebraska through one of of long time sponsors Barnhart Press publishes "SPLASH" each year that recognizes all of the volunteers, sponsors, as well as highlights several quotes of the program recipients on their experience


BRUSH UP NEBRASKA Paint-A-Thon is a community based volunteer program that paints homes of qualified low-income elderly and low-income permanently disabled homeowners, in the Omaha Metropolitan Area, Sarpy, Cass counties in Nebraska and Pottawatomie county in Iowa, so that these homeowners may maintain their property, increase energy efficiency and beautify the community.
