Meals on Wheels and Congregate Meal Program
Everyone knows someone who's been touched by the Meals on Wheels or Senior Congregate Meal program. They are our parents, our neighbors and our friends; the people who taught us, kept us safe, gave back to our communities, made the products we use and prepared the food that we eat. Today, they're all the people in Alpena County who face the challenges of limited mobility and isolation as they age. Tomorrow, they will be us. Help us make sure that the people who took care of us aren't left behind, forgotten or hungry - and instead are able to live out the independent lives they deserve and feel nourished through the kind of life-giving connections that help them thrive.
You can help us to fight Senior Hunger today by helping the Alpena Senior Citizen's Center during our Meals on Wheels and Congregate Meal fundraiser.
• The Senior Center provides over 60,000 Meals on Wheels and Congregate meals within a year.
• The average cost to prepare a meal at the center is $4.50.
• Average donation for Meals on Wheels is $1.10.
• Average donation for Congregate Meals is $1.75.
You can help raise money for the Senior Center's meal program and help us to reach our goal this year of $25,000. Every dollar donated makes a difference and helps put food on the table of a senior in need. Thank you for your help!

It offers many people in the community an outlet. So many retired and widowed folks have no family and this is an awesome alternative. The meals they serve are a combination of well balanced meals for those who might not otherwise get that at home.
