Senior Ride Nashville (SRN) connects Davidson County seniors aged 60+ to volunteer and paid drivers who provide courteous and safe transportation to and from medical appointments, grocery stores, community centers, and more. We currently operate in Bellevue, West Nashville, Madison, Donelson, Hermitage, East Nashville, and Old Hickory with plans for gradual expansion until services are available to seniors county-wide.
SRN offers a transportation solution unlike any other in the area to an often-overlooked population. Seniors typically have limited mobility options because ride-share or taxi services are cost prohibitive and public transportation can be confusing and difficult to access. SRN's unique approach is safe, affordable, and reliable and includes a hint of caregiving. SRN's senior riders can get a three-hour, two-destination round trip ride for only $6.00 and volunteer drivers will provide additional support throughout the ride, if needed (i.e. help at the grocery store). Through caring and reliable transportation, SRN keeps Nashville's older adults connected to the community, provides mobility for maintaining health and quality of life, and creates valuable relationships between volunteer drivers and riders.
In 2019, we are projected to complete over 5,900 trips, an 80% increase over the number of trips provided in 2018.
