Not only does our agency provide senior housing opportunities in New Plymouth, Idaho, Council Idaho and Parma Idaho, but we also provide information on Meals on Wheels, Hospice Care and information on many other Senior adult programs.
As stated above our Medical Transportation Program is funded by donations, and grants with some additional funds coming from the Area III Senior Services Agency and St. Lukes Hospital; we are very thankful, but our senior adult and veterans medical transportation program has quadrpled in need and we simply don't have all the funds needed to continue the program without additional funds. We are filling a gap that isn't necessarily thought about; providing seniors and our veteran with assistance and transportation to and from their medical appointments, most have no family and in some cases have to forgo medical treatment as they have no way to get their, so they don't go, we on the other hand are trying to one trip at a time to help them and ensure they have access to the proper medical care they need. 99.2% of the clients we serve live either at or below the poverty level, with only Social Security and/or disability as their only means of income.
EOA was awarded the STAR Awards for Excellence in 2012 by the prestigious Beverly Foundation, one of only five awarded from 378 nationwide applicants.
