As the only non-profit hospice in the region, we are committed to providing the extra services that truly make a difference for our patients and families. Right now, that means adjusting to life with COVID and preparing for our new normal. In response to COVID, Alive has expanded our Henry Hooker Connect telehospice program to support virtual visits in our residences and to allow patients in quarantined facilities access to our chaplains and social workers. Our Grief Center has added new virtual counseling options and is also sharing easy-to-do art therapy and self-care projects for people staying healthy at home. With your support we can continue to expand these programs During this time, technology has become essential for us to be able to stay connected to our patients and families, virtualize our grief services, and reimagine how to deliver our care now and in the future. Can you make a Give 65 donation to help support our patients and families?
Thanks to community support, we are able to go above and beyond standard hospice care with special offerings such as financial support for patients, grief counseling for adults and children, free community education, and professional training.
Alive serves nearly 4,000 patients and family members each year and trains and supports a volunteer corps of 400. Approximately 90% of the care we provide takes place in our patients' homes. We also have two hospice residences staffed by our own doctors and care teams. Our professional grief counselors provide support to anyone in the community who needs it (not just those with a loved one in our care). We offer individual counseling, support groups, special workshops, and grief camps for kids and teens.
We provide loving care to people with life-threatening illnesses, support to their families and service to the community in a spirit of enriching lives.
